Job summary

Harmony Village of Clawson is seeking a part-time cook to prepare meals for residents, with a split shift from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The cook will follow federal, state, and local guidelines, work with dietary plans, and ensure high standards of sanitation and safety. Responsibilities include preparing and serving meals, reviewing menus, maintaining portion control, assisting with special diets, and keeping the kitchen clean and organized, with adherence to infection control and safety

Qualifications

• Minimum of six months paid quantity food preparation and working with recipes of at least 25-50 servings.
• Formal or on-the-job training in quantity food preparation, estimating quantities, storing supplies, kitchen management, sanitation and safety.
• Prefer some knowledge of therapeutic diets.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve various food items.
• Report exposures and ensure staff compliance with regulations.
• Follow menus, inspect diet trays, and prepare meals per planned menus.
• Maintain sanitary regulations and safety procedures at all times.
• Assist in inventory, storage and daily or scheduled cleaning duties.
• Attend meetings as required.
