Job summary

The City of Hermosa Beach is seeking a Theatre Light Technician for the Parks & Recreation Department. This part-time role supports the Community Theatre and 2nd Story Theatre by planning and supervising technical lighting operations and ensuring safe, high-quality productions.

Responsibilities include patching fixtures, adjusting light cues, and coordinating equipment maintenance and safety inspections with the Lead Theatre Technician. A valid CA driver's license and HS diploma are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of lighting fixtures including LED, moving, and non-moving fixtures.
• Safe handling and maintenance of lighting equipment; electrical safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and monitor technical operations of the Hermosa Beach Community Theatre and 2nd Story Theatre.
• Assist with exclusive use of city-owned theatre equipment and related tasks.
• Patch light consoles, address fixtures, interpret light plots, and design light cues.
• Monitor lighting equipment condition and coordinate repairs within budget.
