Job summary

Waterstone Bank is seeking a part-time Teller to accurately process deposits and loan transactions while upholding policies, while delivering superior customer service and referring bank products when appropriate.

Starting salary is $18.00 an hour and up, with about 25 hours per week and most Saturdays. Requirements include a high school diploma and 6 months of cash handling or customer service experience; additional cash handling experience is a plus.

Starting salary for Teller position is $18.00 an hour and up, depending on experience. Part-time position is approximately 25 hours a week and work most Saturdays.

What Is the Teller Role?

This position is responsible for accurately processing deposit account and loan transactions while adhering to all policies and procedures. The Teller will support the sales process by maintaining customer relationships by providing superior customer service and referring bank products and services when beneficial and appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Effectively process customer transactions with a high level of integrity, accuracy and knowledge.
• Support the sales process by identifying customer needs, promoting current promotional offers and referring customers to Bankers and other lines of business (i.e. WIS and WMC) for further assistance with bank products and services.
• Maintain knowledge of WSB’s core processing system, WSB products and services, WSB policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements governing retail deposit accounts.
• Build and strengthen customer relationships by providing an unparalleled banking experience as set forth in WSB’s Mission.
• Answer customer questions and resolve related account issues, including phone and in-person.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, standards, and external factors that may affect the bank.
• Recommend reasonable changes to policies, procedures, and products.
• Operate in full compliance with internal policies/procedures, as well as applicable regulations/laws.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience

• Required – 6 months of cash handling and/or customer service experience
• Preferred – 2-4 years cash handling and/or customer service experience

Education

• Required – High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Additional education and/or experience: Co-op participation; and previous cash handling and/or retail experience
