Job summary

Sparta Township is seeking a Technical Assistant to join the Construction Department in a busy, customer‑service oriented environment. The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of experience in Construction Code Enforcement (UCC) and must hold a NJ Technical Assistant Certificate as well as NJ residency.

Proficiency in MS Word and Excel is required, Spatial Data Logic is preferred, and the role includes interpreting local ordinances, responding to OPRA requests, and preparing daily deposits and reports.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years’ experience in Construction Code Enforcement (UCC).
• Valid NJ Technical Assistant Certificate and NJ residency required.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel; Spatial Data Logic preferred; ability to interpret ordinances and prepare reports.
