Job summary

Parkland College seeks a Part-Time Technical Support Assistant II to provide computer support across campus, including hardware/software installation, troubleshooting and field assistance. This on-campus role is up to 19 hours weekly, based in Champaign, IL, with an hourly rate of $19.54 and flexible hours typically 8:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in related field with Windows/Mac support.
• Post offer background check with fingerprinting required.
• Knowledge of computer hardware and software in a tech-support setting.
• Ability to diagnose and correct hardware/software issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Respond to user requests via phone, email and in person with high customer satisfaction.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems; suggest solutions.
• Install and configure hardware and software; document steps taken.
• Maintain inventory of computer hardware.
• Collaborate with the support team to improve processes and training.
• Mentor new part-time staff as needed.
