Job summary

Parkland College in Champaign, IL, on-campus part-time position, up to 19 hours per week. Hourly rate ranges from $19.54 to $20.70, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

This pooled position accepts applications year-round; selected applicants may be contacted as openings become available. The Classroom Assistant & Lab Assistant supports the course instructor, helps prepare materials, and fosters a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted post-offer.
• Strong communication skills, both in person and on the phone.
• Ability to work inclusively in a diverse setting.
• Maintain confidentiality and punctuality.
• Work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist with classroom instruction.
• Prepare laboratory materials.
• Obtain and distribute course materials.
• Assist with completing forms per department procedures; submit reports as required.
• Operate office equipment (copiers, PCs, phones).
• Work independently and efficiently.
• May assist with special projects and events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
