Summary

Do you want to make a difference in the lives of young children? Do you enjoy helping children learn through play? Clayton Early Childhood Center, located in Oak Knoll Park, is looking for fun and engaging teacher assistants for part-time positions. The center is seeking support for classrooms from 1-6 pm or 4-6 pm, Monday - Friday.

Teacher Assistants collaborate with Lead Teachers to implement developmentally appropriate activities based on children’s interests and needs. They are an integral part of the classroom, ensuring children are safe and receiving high-quality early childhood services.

Positions are available with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Please indicate your age preference, if any, in your cover letter.

Duties

1. Engage in active supervision to ensure the safety of all children
2. Care for each child’s needs
3. Support the implementation of the Creative Curriculum through developmentally appropriate activities by engaging children in learning
4. Change diapers, encourage self-help, and model appropriate behaviors
5. Assist in maintaining room cleanliness and organization
6. Able to support all age groups as needed

Requirements

1. Works well with others, good communication, both oral and written
2. Basic computer/technology skills
3. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, use stairs, and get up and down from the floor frequently
4. Must pass background check, fingerprinting, child abuse and neglect registry, and drug screening
5. Obtain physical and TB test

Nice To Haves

1. Knowledge and experience working with young children in a childcare setting
2. Certification in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid
3. CDA in Infant, Toddler or Preschool, Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
