Job summary

LearnWell in Washington, DC is seeking a passionate part-time teacher to support child and adolescent patients in a behavioral health setting, Monday through Friday 9am–12pm. You will plan daily lessons, provide individualized assistance, and communicate progress to treatment teams.

Class sizes range from 8 to 15 students. The role requires strong organizational skills and reliable transportation to support ongoing patient education during treatment.

Qualifications

• B.A/B.S. degree from an accredited institution.
• Active District of Columbia State teaching license.
• Comfortable working with grades K-12.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Understanding of subject matter relevant to student needs.
• Reliable Transportation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily lesson plans.
• Provide individualized assistance to students.

• Manage small class sizes (8–15 students) in a behavioral health setting.

Currently, we are seeking a passionate and creative teacher to join our team in Washington, DC on a part-time basis Monday-Friday 9am-12pm. This unique position will involve working in a fast-paced behavioral health facility, providing academic support to child and adolescent school-age patients in a small classroom setting as they receive treatment.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan and deliver daily lesson plans, provide individualized assistance to students, and regularly communicate about student progress as needed. Additionally, you will monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success and maintain accurate attendance and session reports. Most of our class sizes range from 8 to 15 school-age patients at any one time.
