Job summary

LearnWell in Washington, DC is seeking a passionate and creative teacher to join our team on a part-time basis, Monday-Friday 9am-12pm, in a fast-paced behavioral health facility. You will provide academic support to child and adolescent patients in a small classroom setting during treatment.

You will plan and deliver daily lessons, provide individualized assistance, and regularly communicate about student progress as needed.

Qualifications

• B.A./B.S. degree from an accredited institution.
• Active District of Columbia State teaching license
• Comfortable working with grades K-12
• Strong organizational skills
• Understanding of subject matter relevant to student needs
• Reliable Transportation

Responsibilities

Currently, we are seeking a passionate and creative teacher to join our team in Washington, DC on a part-time basis Monday-Friday 9am-12pm. This unique position will involve working in a fast-paced behavioral health facility, providing academic support to child and adolescent school-age patients in a small classroom setting as they receive treatment.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan and deliver daily lesson plans, provide individualized assistance to students, and regularly communicate about student progress as needed. Additionally, you will monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success and maintain accurate attendance and session reports. Most of our class sizes range from 8 to 15 school-age patients at any one time.
