LearnWell is seeking a passionate teacher to join our team in Portland, ME for the school year in a behavioral health facility. This part-time role focuses on providing academic support to child and adolescent patients in a small classroom setting while they receive treatment.

You will plan daily lessons, offer individualized assistance, and regularly report on student progress, adapting strategies to promote success.

Qualifications

• B.A/B.S. degree from an accredited institution.
• Maine teaching license.
• Comfortable working with K-12 students.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Understanding of subject matter relevant to student needs.
• Reliable Transportation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily lesson plans for child and adolescent patients in a small classroom setting.
• Provide individualized assistance to students.
• Regularly communicate about student progress as needed.
• Monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success.
• Maintain accurate attendance and session reports.
• Work with class sizes ranging from 8 to 15 students.

For more than 26 years, we have provided on-site educational services in hospitals, helping these school-age patients continue their education during treatment and reintegrate successfully into the classroom. With a network of over 200 educators, we strive to make a positive impact for generations to come.

Currently, we are seeking a passionate and creative teacher to join our team in Portland, ME on a part-time basis for the school year. This unique position will involve working in a fast-paced behavioral health facility, providing academic support to child and adolescent school-age patients in a small classroom setting as they receive treatment.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan and deliver daily lesson plans, provide individualized assistance to students, and regularly communicate about student progress as needed. Additionally, you will monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success and maintain accurate attendance and session reports. Most of our class sizes range from 8 to 15 school-age patients at any one time.

Position entails a 12-hour a week commitment, Monday-Friday, 9:00-12:00pm.
