Job summary

Samena Swim & Recreation Club in Bellevue, WA is hiring a Part-Time Swim Instructor to teach group lessons to students aged 2–13 and follow Samena’s swim curriculum. You will create a fun, safe learning environment.

Available shifts: Monday & Wednesday 4pm–7pm; Tuesday 4pm–7pm; Thursday 4pm–7pm. Pay ranges from $20.00 to $29.00 per hour. Current Red Cross certifications and CPR/First Aid are required or provided by Samena during training.

Qualifications

• Current American Red Cross Certifications (or equivalent)
• CPR for the Professional Rescuer
• First Aid
• These trainings will be provided by the Samena Club if currently uncertified
• Strong communication skills
• Previous Swimming Experience (no swim lesson experience required; we provide paid training)
• Excellent Customer service skills
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner
• Knowledge and skill in the application of CPR & First Aid
• Knowledge of effective safety standards and precautions related to swimming
• Ability to remain calm in any emergency situation
• Ability to work a regular, consistent schedule
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Ability to receive direction and to follow oral and written instructions

Responsibilities

• Teach swim lessons to the standard taught in instructor training
• Caution swimmers regarding unsafe practices and safety hazards in a friendly and helpful manner
• Follow emergency action plan and procedures established in the event of an emergency
• Maintain order in the pool and adjoining areas
• Provide excellent customer service to all members and guests using the facility
• Ensure safe, quality swim lessons for all assigned students
• Write quality reports cards for swim lesson students
• Other duties as assigned
