Job summary

The City of Carson is seeking a part-time Swim Instructor II to join our Aquatics team. You will lead swim instruction programs, emphasizing confidence, safety, and lifelong skills for all ages at our community pool.

Under supervision, you will supervise aquatic activities, enforce safety rules, and provide CPR/first aid as needed while promoting water safety and positive learning experiences.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid American Red Cross Water Safety Instruction certificate.
• Possession of an American Red Cross Standard First Aid certificate.
• Possession of an American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer certificate.
• Possession of an American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and Standard First Aid certificate is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Enforces established rules and regulations governing the safe use of pools.
• Monitors the swimming pool and surrounding area for emergencies.
• Rescues bathers as necessary, if lifeguard certified.
• Renders CPR and first aid as needed.
• Instructs swimming classes and aquatic activities.
• Coaches competitive swimming or other related water sports.
