YMCA OF GREATE MONMOUTH COUNTY is seeking a part-time Swim Instructor at the Red Bank location. You will teach swimming, maintain attendance and progress records, and engage families to encourage continued involvement with the YMCA.

Requirements include minimum age 16, CPR/AED/First Aid with Emergency Oxygen within 3 months, and YMCA Swim Instructor certification within 6 months. You will follow YMCA safety policies and participate in staff trainings.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 16.
• Certifications: Professional rescuer CPR, AED, Basic First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen within 3 months.
• YMCA Swim Instructor certification, or equivalent within 6 months.
• Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.

Responsabilités

• Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly.
• Builds effective, authentic relationships with students and parents; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA. Encourages parent involvement and identifies potential volunteers.
• Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, report cards, etc.)
• Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
• Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
• Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damage equipment.
• Adhere to policies related to boundaries with youth. Complete required abuse risk management training. Follow mandated abuse reporting procedures, including reporting suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
