Job summary

Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) seeks Part-Time Faculty for the Surgical Technology Program (SGT). Instructors will observe and evaluate students in clinical settings, provide feedback, and may teach in classroom or lab when openings occur. CAAHEP-accredited program; employment requires eligibility to work in the U.S.

Pay dates are the 7th and 22nd of each month. Hours are arranged around clinical site schedules; part-time benefits apply.

Qualifications

Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited surgical technology program.
Must be a CST who has passed the NBSTSA certification exam.
Minimum two years experience in operating room first scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology within the past five years.

Responsibilities

Teach assigned class(es) in accordance with department chair expectations.
Assess student progress through formal and informal assessment.
Observe, instruct and evaluate students in the clinical setting weekly to bi-weekly.
Communicate with clinical site personnel regarding student performance and program expectations.
Submit required clinical assessments to the Academic Chair/Clinical Coordinator.
Attend off-campus locations with on-campus presence as needed.
Maintain certification credentials and provide proof within 5 days of recertification.
