Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Faculty member for the Histotechnician Program to support lab classes and clinical placements. Responsibilities include supervision, instruction, and student evaluations to ensure hands-on histotechnology experience.

Qualifications

• NAACLS qualifications for adjunct faculty or equivalent credentials.
• At least three years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge in course development, instruction, and student evaluation.
• Active Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) certification.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse backgrounds.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Observe, instruct, and evaluate histotechnology students in clinical and/or lab settings weekly to bi-weekly.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback to students on technical and clinical skills.
• Communicate effectively with clinical site personnel to align expectations.
• Submit all required clinical evaluations and assessments to the Clinical Coordinator promptly.
• Respond to emails, information requests, and required evaluations.
• Visit off-campus clinical sites as needed while maintaining on-campus presence for meetings.
• Stay current with advancements in histotechnology and maintain competencies.
• Attend faculty meetings, workshops and program-related activities as required.
• Adhere to AACC employment policies and clinical partner onboarding requirements.
• Contribute to accreditation preparation and site visits as needed.
• Participate in program and student assessment processes.
