Job summary

Fort HealthCare in Fort Atkinson, WI is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our Perioperative Services on an occasional part-time basis. The role supports the RN and ensures a safe operating room and proper equipment function.

The successful candidate will organize surgical activities, maintain sterile fields, anticipate surgeon needs, and assist with disinfection, turnover and inventory control to maximize efficiency and patient safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; preferred Associates Degree
• Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Tech program; preferred 1-2 years experience as Surg Tech
• BLS; Certified Surgical Technologist certification within two years of hire

Responsibilities

• Organizes surgical technical activity in a logical sequence to promote efficiency.
• Maintains the sterile field at all times during the handling of supplies and equipment necessary for the operative procedure.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and has an understanding of the procedure being performed.
• Demonstrates safety measures by adhering to aseptic practice, worker and patient safety standards.
• Assists with disinfection and sterilization processes and with case/room turnover; supports inventory control.
