Job summary

Lakes Surgery Center in West Bloomfield, MI is seeking a part-time Surgical Technologist (Non-Certified) to join our on-site OR team. The role requires assisting surgeons, nurses, and other staff in ophthalmology and other cataract procedures, ensuring sterile technique and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program preferred but not required.
• Must have BLS Certification.
• 2 years of clinical experience as a surgical technologist.
• Must have experience with scrubbing Ophthalmology/Cataract cases, as well as other specialties.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures.
• Sets up surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions before operations.
• Tends to patient during pre-operation procedures and prepares skin, body and equipment.
• Assembles sterile and non-sterile equipment and checks it for proper operation.
• Gets patients ready for surgery and assists the team with positioning and draping.
• Observes vital signs and assists with gowning and gloving.
• Hands instruments to surgeons and assists with counting supplies.
