Crittenden Community Hospital is seeking a dependable Environmental Services Associate for the Surgery Department in Marion, KY. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in surgical and procedural areas, including turnover and terminal cleaning of operating rooms.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• Experience in healthcare Environmental Services or hospital cleaning preferred.
• Experience in cleaning operating rooms or procedural areas preferred but not required.
• Ability to learn Environmental Services and Surgery cleaning/disinfection procedures.
• Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, equipment, and PPE.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, sanitary, aseptic, and visually pleasing environments in surgical areas.
• Perform cleaning and disinfecting procedures in operating rooms per protocols.
• Conduct turnover cleaning between cases and terminal cleaning of ORs.
• Observe disinfectant contact times and safe use of products.
• Handle and dispose of medical waste according to regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness of operating rooms and related areas.
• Ensure PPE use and isolation precautions where applicable.
• Communicate effectively with Surgery Department staff about environmental needs.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required

Previous healthcare Environmental Services, housekeeping, or hospital cleaning experience preferred

Previous experience cleaning operating rooms or other procedural areas is preferred but not required

Ability to learn procedures related to Environmental Services and Surgery Department cleaning and disinfection

Ability to learn cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, equipment, and PPE

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and hospital policies
