Job Description:

The part-time Support Staff provides clerical support in the areas of enrollment services within the Division of Student Affairs. This position assists in the daily operations of the Admissions Office including general office tasks, filing, record management and customer service functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Participate in the daily operations of the primary assignment, which is the Admissions Office by providing clerical support such as processing transfer credit reports, updating transcripts and student records, working within the Customer Relationship Management system (CRM), etc.
  • Provide excellent customer service; greet office visitors, respond to inquiries, answer phones, correspond via email, phone, ChatNow, etc.
  • Respond to inquiries and prospects through the CRM system.
  • Cross train within the division of student affairs to provide clerical support as needed.
  • Contributes to a work environment that encourages and promotes diversity and inclusion.
  • Demonstrates 100% time-on-task; adheres to college and routine office procedures, and regulations.
  • Participate in college, division, department meetings, events and training as recommended and approved by the supervisor.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, college committees, work groups and task forces, and other professional organizations as approved by supervisor.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities related to those listed above which do not alter the basic level of the position.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree preferred; Three or more years of experience in a busy office environment.
  • Experience using and comfort with technology (basic Microsoft Office, etc.), as well as the ability and willingness to learn new computer-based programs.
  • Ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals and be perceptive and understanding of student concerns.
  • Must be team oriented, energetic, focused on details.
  • Must possess strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Must possess strong customer services skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Works in an office setting. Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. The individual needs to move about inside the office to access office machinery. Constantly operates a computer and other equipment i.e. copier. This person frequently communicates with students, faculty and staff. Must be able to exchange accurate information

Additional Information:

Salary/Work Schedule: $18 per hour, 18.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, hours negotiable between 8 AM and 5 PM. Requires flexibility to work occasional evenings and/or weekends as demand dictates.

Candidates for employment should be aware that all STCC employees are required to complete Information Awareness Security Training within thirty days of their orientation date and annually thereafter.
