Job summary

Fastenal Co. is seeking a Part-time Supply Chain Associate in Laplace, LA to manage branch inventory, handle procurement and quoting, and support B2B customer needs. The role includes coordinating resources, assisting accounts receivable, and occasional deliveries with a company vehicle.

A flexible schedule may develop after onboarding and goal achievement. The position requires a valid driver’s license, basic computer skills, and strong communication, math, and organizational abilities.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver's license with ability to operate a company vehicle.
• Pursuing or holding a degree in business, supply chain, operations, management, marketing, sales or related field OR relevant work experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Highly motivated, self-directed and customer service oriented.
• Strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency.
• Strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities.
• Strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills.
• Demonstrate core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork.
• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages weighing 25–50 lbs (up to 75 lbs).
• Pass the required drug screen (US, Puerto Rico and Guam).

Responsibilities

• Managing branch inventory levels.
• Administering procurement functions, including purchase orders and backorder management.
• Estimating/quoting prices and sourcing products.
• Coordinating resources to respond to customer supply chain needs.
• Supporting accounts receivable activities.
• Making deliveries with a company vehicle as necessary.
• Performing other duties to ensure branch success.
