Job summary

Fastenal Co. Ottawa, KS is seeking a part-time Supply Chain Associate to manage inventory and support procurement, sourcing, and quoting for our business-to-business customers.

You will help ensure timely deliveries and responsive service from the Ottawa branch. The role is up to 28 hours per week, with scheduled shifts at 514 N Main St and potential schedule flexibility after onboarding and performance milestones.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Possess a current full valid driver’s license and ability to meet driving record requirements to use a company vehicle.
• Pursuing a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Management, Marketing, Sales or related field OR have customer service or industry related work experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented.
• Strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency.
• Strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities.
• Strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills.
• Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork.
• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that weigh 25lbs-50lbs (up to 75lbs).
• Pass the required drug screen (US, Puerto Rico and Guam).

Responsibilities

• Managing branch inventory levels
• Administering procurement functions, including purchase orders and backorder management
• Estimating/quoting prices and sourcing product
• Coordinating resources to respond to customer supply chain needs
• Supporting accounts receivable activities
• Making deliveries with a company vehicle as necessary
• Performing other duties as needed to ensure branch success
