Job summary

Fastenal Co. Ottawa, KS is seeking a part-time Supply Chain Associate to manage inventory and support procurement, sourcing, and quoting for our business-to-business customers.

You will help ensure timely deliveries and responsive service from the Ottawa branch. The role is up to 28 hours per week, with scheduled shifts at 514 N Main St and potential schedule flexibility after onboarding and performance milestones.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Possess a current full valid driver’s license and ability to meet driving record requirements to use a company vehicle.
• Pursuing a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Management, Marketing, Sales or related field OR have customer service or industry related work experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented.
• Strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency.
• Strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities.
• Strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills.
• Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork.
• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that weigh 25lbs-50lbs (up to 75lbs).
• Pass the required drug screen (US, Puerto Rico and Guam).

OVERVIEW

Embark on a dynamic journey as a Part-time Supply Chain Associate, where every day offers a new opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of supply chain excellence. In addition to managing inventory, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting business-to-business operations by administering procurement, sourcing, and quoting functions that seamlessly meet the needs of our customers and drive the success of their business. This position is for our branch located at 514 N Main St, Ottawa, KS 66067. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• 18 years of age or older, due to the nature of work
• Possess a current full valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located (including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program for your state or province) as well as the ability to meet our driving record requirements to use a company vehicle, as needed
• Possess or are working towards a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Management, Marketing, Sales or related field of study OR have customer service or industry related work experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficient computer skills
