FEDERALLY FUNDED: This position is fully/partially funded through federal grant funds and is contingent upon the availability of those supplemental grant funds. Employees in federally funded positions are required to maintain grant-specific time and effort documentation and follow all applicable administrative regulations for the grant.

ROLE AND PURPOSE:

The Supplemental Intervention Tutor provides specialized, supplemental, evidence‑based instruction in reading, writing, or mathematics to struggling students, typically in small groups or through push‑in/pull‑out support. The tutor delivers targeted and intensive intervention for students not meeting state standards and collaborates with teachers and campus administration regarding student progress and ongoing instructional needs. Tutors facilitate intervention support that promotes critical thinking, problem solving, and mastery of TEKS‑aligned content.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

  • Valid Texas Teaching Certificate required
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university

Experience:

  • Demonstrate competency in the core academic subject areas.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with students across grade levels
  • Ability to motivate and engage students
  • Strong background in reading and/or mathematics
  • Ability to work cooperatively with campus staff
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to support student ownership of learning

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT:

  • Collect and report assessment and progress monitoring data
  • Support program documentation requirements
  • OTHER DUTIES:
  • Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
  • Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned.
  • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
