Job summary

AoPS Academy is seeking a part-time Summer Language Arts Instructor for an in-person role in Irvine, CA. You will teach language arts using a company-created curriculum to small classes, typically 16 students, during afterschool or weekend sessions.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree, preferably in education or humanities, with strong reading, writing, and grammar knowledge. Prior K-12 teaching or tutoring experience is preferred, and a credential is not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Strong content knowledge in reading, writing, and/or grammar.
• Classroom teaching experience at the K-12 level is preferred.
• Experience teaching or tutoring students.

Responsibilities

• Teach Engaging Curriculum using company-created materials for advanced students.
• Actively engage students in each class or student-led learning.
• Manage classrooms with up to 16 students effectively.
• Grade tests and provide feedback on assignments.
• Build relationships with students and families to support learning journeys.
• Inspire a love for learning and critical thinking in language arts.
