Job summary

AoPS Academy is seeking a part-time Language Arts Instructor at our Pleasanton campus. You will teach language arts using company-created curriculum to small classes, typically after school, with hosting evenings and weekend opportunities. This role emphasizes student engagement and developing critical thinking in language arts.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree (education or humanities preferred) with K-12 teaching or tutoring experience. A credential is not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Strong content knowledge in reading, writing, and/or grammar.
• Classroom teaching experience at the K-12 level is preferred.
• Experience teaching or tutoring students.

Responsibilities

• Teach Engaging Curriculum: Use company-created curriculum and materials to lead small language arts classes.
• Engage Students: Actively involve students in each class or student-led learning.
• Classroom Management: Manage up to 16 students.
• Grade & Provide Feedback: Provide feedback on tests and assignments.
• Build Relationships: Connect with students and families to support their educational journey.
• Inspire Learning: Encourage a love for learning and critical thinking in language arts.
