Job summary

Long Island Treatment Center is seeking a compassionate Part-Time Group Facilitator to join our outpatient team. The role combines group facilitation with individual counseling for adults pursuing treatment for substance use disorders and problem gambling.

The ideal candidate will create engaging, recovery-oriented group experiences, maintain a respectful therapeutic environment, and document accurately in the EMR.

Qualifications

• Current New York State CASAC, CASAC-G or CASAC-T credential required.
• Minimum of two years of experience in substance use disorder, problem gambling, behavioral health, or related treatment setting.
• Experience facilitating psychoeducational and process-oriented therapy groups.
• Strong clinical, interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with 12-Step and other recovery support approaches.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Maintain professional boundaries and comply with all ethical and confidentiality requirements.
• All credentials must remain active and in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate 4 recurring therapy groups each week.
• Facilitate psychoeducational and process-oriented group sessions.
• Create a welcoming, respectful therapeutic environment.
• Use evidence-based interventions while tailoring to individual needs and stages of recovery.
• Monitor client participation, progress, risk factors and barriers to treatment.
• Collaborate with the Clinical Director and multidisciplinary team to coordinate care.
• Complete group and individual documentation accurately and within required timeframes in the EMR.
• Maintain compliance with OASAS, Joint Commission, and documentation standards.
• Participate in supervision, staff meetings, case conferences, and ongoing professional development.
