Job summary

Amarillo ISD is seeking a Substitute Teacher for the WTAMU/Texas Tech 2+1 Classroom Management Course. The role is part-time in Amarillo, TX, with an immediate start and daily compensation of $107–$112 per day.

The position requires enrollment in WTAMU or the Texas Tech 2+1 program, with duties including implementing lesson plans, maintaining classroom discipline, and ensuring student safety. Training and adherence to AISD policies are provided.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at WTAMU in Classroom Management
• Or enrolled in the Texas Tech 2+1 Program
• Knowledge of curriculum and instructional methods
• Strong lesson planning and presentation skills
• Conflict resolution and classroom management skills
• Strong group interaction skills and technology skills preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality of student and school information
• Maintain discipline and classroom control for a safe environment
• Ensure health, welfare, and safety of all students
• Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
• Report to office on arrival; check absent teacher materials; seek rule clarification
• Report injuries, accidents, illnesses, discipline issues promptly
• Implement lesson plans while maintaining instructional time
• Dismiss students before leaving the building
• Return materials and keys to proper place
• Comply with school/division policies
• Model non-discriminatory practices
• Participate in AISD Substitute Teacher staff development
• Ensure compliance with Educator Code of Ethics
