CACI is seeking a Part-Time Submarine Systems Engineer to support submarine rescue and mobility platforms at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, Maine. The role requires an ABET-accredited Engineering degree and 10 years of submarine or deep submergence experience, with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

The position involves developing and reviewing job summaries and TGIs, supporting 688/774 class submarine projects, and performing complex engineering calculations.

The Opportunity

CAA has will have an opening for an Electrical/Mechanical/Civil/Ocean Engineer to support engineering and planning efforts for Submarine Rescue and Mobility platforms at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNS) in Kittery, Maine.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, create and review Job Summaries and Task Group Instructions (TGIs)
  • Assist with other Deficiency Form problems and preparing Sales Costs estimates.
  • Support of 688 Class and 774 Class Submarine engineering and Deep Submergence projects
Qualifications
Required
  • Electrical/Mechanical/Civil/Ocean engineering degree from an ABET Accredited College/University (other degree disciplines may be considered)
  • 10 years' experience with submarine and/or deep submergence systems
  • Knowledge of US Navy Shipyard applications including AIM
  • Professional engineering experience performing complex engineering calculations such as heat transfer, fluid flow, piping stress, mechanical stress etc.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and experience with MS Office suite of products.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage work in a time-sensitive operational environment.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret clearance.
Desired
  • Related submarine / submersible experience with design, maintenance, operations, repair and/or testing
  • Electrical power background (NSTM 300)
  • Familiarity with Military Specifications, ANSI and ASME standards
  • Experience with configuration management and document control
  • Ability to achieve excellence working individually or as part of a team

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$94,800 - $199,100
