Job summary

Juneau School District is seeking a part-time instructional assistant to support students not in special education. The role involves presenting material, assisting in reading, writing, math, and related activities, and tracking student progress.

This 9-month, 20-hour per week position starts at $24.40 per hour. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, PERS, and paid time off. Selected candidate will be fingerprinted for background checks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma.
• Some prior experience working with school age children preferred.
• CPR, first aid and district approved behavioral management techniques may be required.
• Must have either an AA degree, or 48 semester hours, or be willing to take and pass the WorkKeys Exam (support available).

Responsibilities

• Present material and activities to improve skills in assigned areas.
• Work individually or in small groups.
• Record grades and other measures of students' progress and behavior.
