Job summary

John Deere in Fargo, ND seeks a Part-Time Student - Manufacturing Engineer to support cost, quality and safety improvements in an electronic controller environment. You will update line layouts in CAD and assist with factory automation and vision systems.

Ideal candidates are pursuing an engineering degree, maintain a 2.8+ GPA, and can commute to the Fargo site. VISA sponsorship is not available, and the program runs year-round alongside school commitments.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related fields.
  • Must be registered as a full-time student and eligible for co-op / internship.
  • GPA 2.8 or above and able to commute to Fargo, ND.

Responsibilities

The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.

Your Responsibilities

As a Part Time Student - Manufacturing Engineer for JD Intelligent Solutions Group located in Fargo,ND, you will:

  • Identify and implement cost reductions, quality, safety, and ergonomic improvement ideas of limited scope in an electronic controller manufacturing environment
  • Update line layouts in CAD
  • Develop and support Factory Automation programs to control assembly fixtures
  • Develop and support vision systems
  • Work with electronic tools to perform engineering functions

What Skills You Need
  • Pursuing a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Automation Engineering; others may apply
  • Understanding of various functions of manufacturing
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at an accredited university/college
  • Graduation date of December 2027 or later
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
  • Must be able to commute to the work location in Fargo, ND

$15 - $40 hourly based on published rates for business function and education level.
