Job summary

John Deere in Fargo, North Dakota is seeking a Part-Time Advanced Engineering Student to augment our JD Intelligent Solutions team. Work 16-20 hours weekly during the school year, supporting experiments, data analysis, and lab tasks under supervision.

The program runs year-round. Candidates must be full-time students with a minimum GPA of 2.8 and plan to graduate Spring 2027 or later; relocation is not provided and commuting to Fargo is expected.

Qualifications

  • One year of study in Science, Engineering or related fields.
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at an accredited university.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
  • Graduation date of Spring 2027 or later.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with supervisor or other engineering personnel to support Advanced Engineering projects: experiments, testing, and data analysis
  • Document results in a neat and organized fashion for approval by supervisor and other engineering personnel
  • Operate and maintain analytical laboratory equipment to support Advanced Engineering development and analysis work
  • Perform other technical tasks as directed by a supervisor or mentor

The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company's regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.

Your Responsibilities

As a Advanced Engineering Student Program for JD Intelligent Solutions located in Fargo, North Dakota, you will:

  • Work closely with supervisor or other engineering personnel to support Advanced Engineering projects: experiments, testing, and data analysis
  • Document results in a neat and organized fashion for approval by supervisor and other engineering personnel
  • Operate and maintain analytical laboratory equipment to support Advanced Engineering development and analysis work
  • Perform other technical tasks as directed by a supervisor or mentor

What Skills You Need
  • Ideally, you will be pursuing a degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field; others may apply
  • One year of study in Science, Engineering or related fields
  • Open to graduate students
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at an accredited university
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
  • Graduation date of Spring of 2027 or later
  • Assemble and disassemble electronic modules and fixtures using hand tools
  • Read and understand the operating instructions of laboratory equipment
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to interpret data and self-direct accordingly
  • Available to work 16-20 hours/week during the academic year
  • On average, up to 32 hours/week during the academic year and summer semester
  • Must be able to commute daily to the designated work location in Fargo, ND regularly. (NOTE: Relocation assistance is not provided)

$15 - $40 hourly based on published rates for business function and education level.
