Job summary

The Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District is seeking a Health Aide to support student health services at American Charter Academy under the supervision of a licensed RN. The role involves direct care, basic first aid, and adherence to student health plans in a school setting.

Responsibilities include medication administration per orders, conducting required screenings, maintaining health records, and collaboration with families and staff to ensure student safety and well‑being.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or higher.
• Two years of college coursework preferred.
• Associate's degree or higher is an asset.
• Para Pro Assessment and standards checklist may be required.
• LPN preferred; RN supervision will apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic first aid, CPR, and AED interventions per protocols.
• Administer medications under provider orders and state guidelines.
• Deliver direct care to students with health plans under RN supervision.
• Maintain confidential health records for student interactions.
• Collaborate with RN, staff, and families to support student health.
• Perform mandated screenings and document results accurately.
• Report health issues promptly to RN and guardians when applicable.
• Document accidents or injuries per policy.
• Participate in Health Services meetings and training.
• Perform other health-related duties as assigned.
