Job summary

John Deere is seeking a Part-Time Student in Communications to support newsletters, photos, video production, events, and presentations at the Johnston, IA location. You will help source content, assist with shoots, and ensure brand consistency across communications.

Ideal candidates are Communications students with a minimum 2.8 GPA, available 10–20 hours weekly during the school year and 30–40 hours in summer, and capable of commuting to Johnston.

Qualifications

• Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in Communications; others may apply.
• Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited University.
• Graduation date of December 2027 or later.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
• Available to work 10-20 hours/week during the academic year.
• Available to work 30-40 hours/week during the summer semester.
• Must be able to commute to the work location in Johnston, IA.
• Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior standing students are preferred, Senior standing and those pursuing Advanced degrees may apply.

Responsibilities

• Newsletters: Source content for newsletters, including reporting and photos, and help layout and distribute newsletters.
• Photos and Videos: Assist with photo/video shoots and post-production using company-approved editing software such as Adobe Rush and Vyond.
• Events: Assist with meetings, employee events, and other unit events.
• Presentations: Support layout and sourcing photos and information for presentations.
• Brand: Ensure Deere's brand is applied on communications, print, and licensed products.
• Other: Assists with other communication activities as needed.
