Job summary

It Takes A Village Family of Schools is seeking a Part-Time Bus Attendant to help transport students safely in Bronzeville, Chicago, IL. You will supervise students, promote safe behavior, and assist with boarding, seating, and exiting the bus alongside the driver.

The role emphasizes caring, safety, and dependable service, with grant-funded program support and opportunities for growth within ITAV’s transportation operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with school-age children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Experience with students with diverse learning or behavioral needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during morning and afternoon bus routes.
• Assist with boarding, seating, and safe exiting of the bus.
• Maintain a safe, orderly bus environment in coordination with the driver.
• Engage with students and families to promote a welcoming atmosphere.
• Support school operations as assigned.
