Job summary

City of Brenham, TX is seeking a part-time maintenance worker to assist the Street Department with daily upkeep of streets, drainage systems and vegetation control. • Performs work with manual tools to paint curbs, medians, and other areas in need of routine maintenance; and
• Assists with general roadway maintenance when needed.

Summary

$12.00 per hour (20 hours or less per week) * Part-time is defined as 20 hours per week or less, and less than 1000 hours annually; work hours include rotating schedule

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Performs general labor as assigned in the maintenance of streets, drainage systems and vegetation management;
• Operates small equipment such as weed‑eaters, crack sealer and other equipment used in the maintenance of streets, drainage facilities and vegetation management;
• Performs work with manual tools to paint curbs, medians, and other areas in need of routine maintenance; and
• Assists with general roadway maintenance when needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This is a non-supervisory position.

Valid Texas driver's license required. Must be at least 17 years of age to be considered to handle small equipment. Must be at least 18 years of age to operate larger equipment or operate a motor vehicle for City of Brenham business.
