Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. Duties include assisting with day-to-day activities, helping customers, organizing merchandise, and maintaining stockrooms and displays.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs., and a track record in retail or grocery settings. Leadership and training duties are part of the role, with emphasis on safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer and team interactions.
• Experience coordinating store operations and merchandising.
• Ability to read and interpret operational directives and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom per standards.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash removal, and neatness.
• Other duties as assigned.
