Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Brimley, Michigan to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, merchandise handling, and adherence to corporate directives, while maintaining a safe and welcoming store environment.

The role emphasizes leadership support to the Store Manager, training of Store Associates, and ensuring a clean, well-organized store that meets company standards; part-time schedule applies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks required by the role.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment; strong customer service mindset.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, and keeping records (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom per company standards.
• Protect company assets, including store cash; follow safety policies.
• Support Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
