Job summary

Dollar Tree in Pierre, SD seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandise flow, payroll, scheduling, and loss prevention while supporting a safe, friendly environment for customers and staff.

Ideal candidates have strong communication, basic management experience, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs as part of the job. This is a part-time role located on-site at 1910 Eastgate Avenue.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties as part of daily tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers with questions or concerns in a positive manner.
• Organize merchandise and maintain seasonal store areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and maintain records including payroll and cash handling.
• Maintain store fixtures, displays, stockroom and sales floor.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, and loss prevention.
• Support Store Manager in training and development of associates.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and respectful store environment.
