Job summary

Dollar Tree in Frederica, DE is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with daily activities, help customers, and ensure merchandise is organized from delivery to floor.

The role emphasizes strong communication, leadership, and adherence to store policies. This is a part-time position with focus on teamwork, safety, and getting the store ready for daily business.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping and bending.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and daily activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, payroll, scheduling, cash handling and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas stocked and organized to company standards.
• Protect store assets including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Assist Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store including bathrooms, floors, trash and presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
