Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee daily store operations, customer service, and team development at our Marlborough location. You will assist with merchandising, staffing, opening and closing procedures, and ensuring company standards are met.

You will lead by example in delivering friendly service, managing payroll and scheduling, and maintaining a safe, clean environment while supporting the Store Manager in coaching and developing Store Associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks regularly.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational and communication skills required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll and scheduling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness of the store, restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
