Job summary

The Michaels Companies in Springfield, IL is seeking a Store Environment Team Member for part-time hours to maintain store cleanliness, assist customers, and support daily operations. You will clean, stock, handle checkout basics, and follow SOPs while delivering friendly service.

The role requires physical ability to stand, lift and move items, and work earlier mornings, nights or weekends. 16 years or older; wage $16.00–$18.50 per hour with potential overtime per local laws.

Qualifications

• Retail and/or cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to move and lift items and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall store cleanliness and recovery standards to support brand promises.
• Provide friendly customer service and assist shoppers in finding items.
• Dust and mop floors, dispose of trash, and move equipment as needed.
• Prepare cleaning solutions and deep clean key areas (bathrooms, breakrooms).
• Assist with checkout, rewards enrollments, and omni-channel processes (BOPIS/SFS).
• Stock shelves, participate in truck unloading and planogram compliance.
