Job summary

Smart & Final in Tulare is seeking a Part-Time Associate to join our store operations team. The role involves stocking, cashier duties, and customer service at the 430 Tulare location. You’ll assist customers, maintain displays, and help keep the store clean and organized.

We value reliability and teamwork; lifting requirements apply. This position is part-time and located at 1019 E. Prosperity Ave, Tulare, CA.

Qualifications

• Read and write English; interact with the public and coworkers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Present information clearly in one‑on‑one and small group settings.
• Follow written or oral instructions with basic comprehension.
• Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly, up to 45 pounds frequently, up to 60 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a store section as assigned; may order, receive and stock merchandise with proper pricing.
• Check product date codes to validate rotation; stock shelves and displays.
• Operate a cash register; handle payments and refunds as directed by management.
• Assist customers and load purchases to vehicles when required.
• Perform basic bookkeeping and recordkeeping for store supplies.
