Job summary

Smart & Final is hiring a Part-Time Associate for the 589 Gilroy location. You will assist with stocking, selling, and customer service while ensuring store presentation and efficiency.

The role reports to the Store Manager, requires physical stamina to lift up to 60 pounds, and basic computer skills. Prior retail experience is a plus, and the team emphasizes community involvement and service.

Qualifications

• Read and write English, interact with the public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product pricing tags and memos.
• Lift up to 25 pounds regularly, up to 60 pounds occasionally.
• Provide friendly, knowledgeable assistance to customers and colleagues.
• Basic PC/Outlook skills and ability to use store equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a store section and stock merchandise with proper pricing.
• Operate a cash register and handle transactions and refunds.
• Assist customers to vehicles when needed and provide product info.
• Keep the store clean and sanitize interior and exterior areas.
• Perform basic bookkeeping and inventory-related tasks.
