Job summary

Habitat for Humanity Portland Region is seeking a part-time, hourly non-exempt Store Associate to support day-to-day retail operations. The role involves customer service, cashiering, donation processing, and volunteer guidance in a busy ReStore environment.

You will join a team committed to equitable practices and community impact, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and friendly customer interactions in the Portland region. Shift flexibility and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• One year of customer service experience.
• Ability to work with staff and volunteers under leadership.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Time management for donation flow and shifts.
• Willingness to learn to use forklift, pallet jack, and dolly.
• Follow safety requirements and keep others compliant.
• Willingness to learn communication tools like phone, email, and 2-way radio.
• Adapt to changing work environments and learn new operations.

Responsibilities

• Customer service excellence, greeting customers, cashiering and assisting donors.
• Greet donors, inspect donations meeting criteria, and decline others.
• Guide volunteers to support tasks assigned by leadership.
• Process and price donations.
• Stock merchandise on the sales floor.
• Clean and organize store and receiving areas.
• Assist donation pickups as needed.
• Engage customers and donors in Habitat’s mission and events.
• Support other ReStore locations as needed.
