Job summary

Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM) at Naval Base San Diego is seeking a part-time Store Worker in the Stocking Dept. This role involves loading, unloading, and stocking merchandise, with 20–34.5 hours per week in the Home Store location.

Responsibilities include processing deliveries, assisting customers, and maintaining orderly stock areas. Training includes HazMat within 90 days of hire, with benefits typical of federal employee positions.

Qualifications

• Six months experience performing various duties in loading, unloading and verifying merchandise.
• Hazardous Materials (HazMat) training within 90 days of hire per DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload merchandise; verify type and quantity against documentation; bring discrepancies to supervisor.
• Move layaway merchandise from retail store to designated warehouse; stack and return to store as required.
• May operate price tag machine and assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Keep storage and sales areas clean and orderly; assist in stock checks and inventories.
• Carry out assignments under supervision with minimal review; ensure instructions are followed.
