Job summary

Penn State Abington is seeking up to eight part-time STEM Academy Teaching Assistants for an in-person math and science program in Northeast Philadelphia. The role supports classroom instruction and tutoring during Sept 2026 to June 2027, typically 4:00–8:00 pm on most weekdays, with 8–12 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Proficiency within at least one STEM area (Engineering, Math, Physics, IST, Computer Science) or Education (5th semester students or higher preferred).
• Ability to understand instructions and work independently as well as collaboratively.
• Current or former Penn State Abington student (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively to deliver STEM based instruction, activities, and labs for high school students.
• Follow and revise written instructions and supporting materials for all STEM activities.
• Provide weekly updates, reports, and materials to STEM Faculty Coordinator.
• Communicate regularly with fellow STEM team members and Faculty Coordinator to ensure proper content and problem solving.
