Job summary

YWCA is seeking a Part-time STEAM tutor to support after-school and summer programs in El Paso. You will implement engaging lesson plans, guide students through STEM, arts, and technology activities, and ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment for participants ages 4 and up.

The role requires a STEAM-related degree or current enrollment, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work 12.5 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or has completed an associate or bachelor’s degree program in a STEAM-related field.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be passionate about working with children and youth.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
• Must obtain CPR, First Aid, Texas Health & Human Services background check, FBI fingerprint and food handling certifications before start.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging tutoring in STEAM for program participants aged 4 and older in after-school programs and camps.
• Implement lesson plans and technology-based activities.
• Provide guidance, care and safety in a nurturing environment.
• Lead a variety of supervised activities including STEM, arts and crafts, music and games.
• Maintain attendance records and follow safety and regulatory standards.
