The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is seeking a part-time Standardized Patient for the School of Podiatric Medicine. The role involves portraying specific emotions, behaviors, and disease signs during simulated patient encounters to enable experiential learning and assessment of students’ skills.

You will memorize case scripts, maintain the character throughout interactions, provide feedback, and work on an on-call basis under direct supervision.

Formación

• Flexible scheduling is required.
• Ability to accurately and convincingly maintain a specified character as trained.
• Ability to work flexible hours on a scheduled on-call basis.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to recall case information as cued by students in a role-play situation.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of case and student information.

Responsabilidades

• Memorizes a case script detailing emotions, behaviors, and disease signs/symptoms for presentation during simulated learning situations.
• Assesses student behaviors using standardized measurement tools and mentors entry-level standardized patients.
• Prepares and presents case information in a standardized manner, as elicited by students during simulated interactions.
• Remains in character as trained when responding to student questions.
• Accurately remembers encounters with students for scoring purposes.
• Maintains confidentiality of information related to cases and feedback evaluations.
• Provides educationally constructive verbal feedback within a structured format.
