Job summary

Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to join our team. You will ensure optimal use of clinical staff in order to provide high quality and cost effective care.

This position coordinates, organizes, and prepares work schedules for nursing units in the Float Pool to ensure the appropriate amount of staff is available. You will collaborate with unit managers and supervisors to anticipate staffing needs and resolve scheduling challenges.

Qualifications

• Applicable Experience: 2 years
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities are required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with House Supervisor and Unit Managers regarding staffing and scheduling to resolve issues in a proactive manner
• Assigns centralized float pool staff on daily basis according to census
• Monitors staffing and census levels routinely in coordination with the Staffing Analyst, alerting unit when staffing needs to be adjusted
• Receives and records call-ins and adjusts staffing accordingly
• Communicates any observed issues with Unit Managers if it appears office staff will have difficulty filling unfilled shifts
