The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute is the sole nonprofit organization created by President Reagan charged with advancing his legacy and principles – individual liberty, economic opportunity, freedom and democracy, peace through strength, and national pride. The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute is seeking a part-time Staff Assistant to work in the main lobby of the Reagan Institute in Washington, D.C. In addition to working with visitors and the duties outlined below, the Staff Assistant will be expected to provide support at the Institute’s special events.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Must be 18 years of age. The successful candidate must be passionate about President Ronald Reagan’s legacy and principles. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be reliable, punctual, accountable, and professional. Must have excellent customer service skills, be courteous, efficient, and possess a positive attitude. Ability to work and support colleagues in a close-knit group environment is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a willingness to learn and stay updated on the Reagan Institute's operations, projects, and programs. Prior customer service and retail experience is preferred. Basic math and computer skills are required; knowledge of point of sales programs is desired. Staff Assistants must be comfortable with handheld technology as they will provide guests with guidance on the interactive video selections on the digital wall. Work is performed while standing, sitting, or walking with occasional bending, reaching, and lifting/carrying of printed materials and retail products. Weekend days and some evenings may be required for special events.

This is a non-exempt part-time position, approximately 25 hours per week, including weekend days and occasional evenings for special events. Benefits include the opportunity to participate in a retirement program, as well as Paid Time Off (PTO) based on hours accrued per pay period and years of service. This position will be compensated at $17.50 per hour and will be eligible for overtime. The position will be located at The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute, Washington, DC.
